When coming clean with her sexuality, the 45-year-old comedienne and writer shares on Instagram a picture of her wearing a tank top bearing the word 'Queer.'

AceShowbiz - Amber Ruffin used the last day of Pride Month to come out as gay. On Sunday, June 30, "The Amber Ruffin Show" host took to social media to announce that she's a part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Making use of Instagram, the 45-year-old shared a picture of her wearing a tank top bearing the word "Queer." She began her caption by writing, "In what will come as a shock to exactly zero people, I'm using the last day of PRIDE to come out!"

"Be proud of who you are, little babies! I know I am! And I can't wait to be discriminated against for a new reason!!" The Omaha, Nebraska native continued. She also let out a series of rainbow flag emojis.

The post has since been flooded with positive feedback. Among them who left out a comment was singer and actress Cynthi Erivo, who exclaimed, "Welcome baby love!! bathrooms are to the left, refreshments to the right, grab a chair. The DJ takes requests." Lena Waithe replied, "You are loved and seen and appreciated!!" adding a little rainbow emoji.

"Queer Eye" star Tan France added, "Yay!! Happy Pride, love!! I hope you feel so loved and supported." Actress Sophia Bush chimed in, "Welcome home Amber!! Our team just keeps getting hotter and smarter!! Happy Pride, dear one."

The Tony Award nominee, who co-authored a book with her sister Lacey Lamar titled "You'll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism", had been married to Dutch painter Jan Schiltmeijer for 13 years. The then-couple ended their marriage in December 2023.

Amber still regularly contributes to "Late Night with Seth Meyers in the "Jokes We Can't Tell" segment. The comedienne herself hosted her own Peacock show from 2020 to 2022.
