AceShowbiz - Sexyy Red didn't mean to get political with her show attribute. The "Pound Town" hitmaker insisted that she isn't "endorsing anybody" after wearing a red "Make America Sexyy Again" hat at the 2024 Roots Picnic music festival.

"It's Sexyy Red 4 President. I'm my own candidate. I'm not endorsing anybody, period," the femcee wrote on X, formerly Twitter. She then doubled down in a separate tweet, "Make America Sexyy Again."

Sexyy wore the hat while performing "Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)" at The Mann Center in Philadelphia on Sunday. After a clip of the gig went viral, many social media users came against her as they assumed that the rapper supported Donald Trump.

"I just feel like this is very distasteful to the black community! trump don't care nothing about us," an Instagram user wrote in the comment section of The Neighborhood Talk's post, while another opined, "So glad I'm not a fan of hers anyway." A third penned, "And that's why I don't support her…"

Others, however, came to Sexyy's defense. "Even if she supports trump what's the problem? Everyone has their own views," producer Sonny Digital typed. "It's marketing. She been using the red hat as a prop. Everyone recognizes the MAGA hat and the slogan so she played off of it and switched it up. This isn't something for ppl to have think pieces about," someone else chimed in.

Despite her claims about not endorsing any presidential candidate, Sexyy once stated on "This Past Weekend" podcast that she "likes" Trump. She added in the October 2023 interview, "Yeah, they support him in the hood. At first I don't think people was f**king with him. They thought he was racist, saying little s**t against women."

"But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Aww baby, we love Trump," she added. "We need him back in office. We need him back because, baby, them checks. Them stimulus checks. Trump, we miss you."
