The 'The Idea of You' and 'Red, White and Royal Blue' actor is set to play the iconic superhero in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Mattel's 'Masters of the Universe'.

AceShowbiz - Nicholas Galitzine has been cast as He-Man in Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films' live-action adaptation of "Masters of the Universe". Inspired by the popular 1980s animated series, the film will follow Adam, Prince of Eternia, as he discovers his destiny and battles the evil Skeletor.
Travis Knight ("Kubo and the Two Strings") will direct the film based on a script by Chris Butler, with a previous draft from David Callaham, Aaron Nee and Adam Nee. Escape Artists' Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, along with Mattel Films' Robbie Brenner, will produce the project.
Galitzine expressed his excitement about the role on Instagram, saying, "It has been a dream for so long to play someone of his heart, humor, and heroism, I cannot wait to get started."
Amazon MGM Studios' Julie Rapaport praised Galitzine's casting as "an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia." Mattel Films' Robbie Brenner added, "We are thrilled to be producing alongside the highly respected and prolific Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch, with the visionary Travis Knight, and the charismatic and talented Nicholas Galitzine, our Prince Adam/He-Man!"
Galitzine's recent projects include "The Idea of You", "Mary & George" and "Red, White & Royal Blue", for which a sequel is in development.
"Masters of the Universe" is scheduled for release in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026.
