AceShowbiz - John Cena, known for his iconic wrestling career and recent success as the title character in DC's "Peacemaker", has remained tight-lipped about his potential connections to the wider DC Universe. Despite the speculation surrounding his involvement in future projects, Cena declined to comment during an appearance at Comicpalooza.
"Do you know who James Gunn is?" he asked with a laugh. "He's got this look when you make him mad. And it's actually indescribable, but I don't want to see it ever again. So I'm just gonna say... no comment."
While the first season of "Peacemaker" was set within the DC Extended Universe, it has been confirmed that the upcoming second season will be part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's "reset" DC Universe. Gunn has stated that this rollout of the DCU's canon will not be confusing to fans.
Gunn and Safran's initial slate for "Gods and Monsters" includes movies for "Superman", "The Brave and the Bold", "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow", "Swamp Thing", and "The Authority". It also includes HBO Max television shows such as "Waller", "Booster Gold", "Lanterns", "Paradise Lost" and an animated Creature Commandos series.
Cena's reluctance to comment on his potential involvement in these projects has fueled speculation that he may be set to reprise his role as Peacemaker or appear in other DC installments. However, with the DC Universe undergoing a major restructuring, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Cena and other beloved DC characters.
