The 'I Drove All Night' songstress opens up to Hoda Kotb about what Stiff Person Syndrome has done to her voice and 'the possibility of a comeback' in an upcoming interview.

AceShowbiz - Celine Dion opens up to Hoda Kotb about her health struggle. According to the "Today With Hoda and Jenna" co-host, the "I Drove All Night" songstress had a "scary time" when she "almost died" amid Stiff Person Syndrome.

In the Thursday, May 23 episode of the TV program, the 59-year-old news anchor talked about her chat with 56-year-old music legend. Speaking to her co-host Jenna Bush Hager, she recalled, "I went to Las Vegas to interview Celine Dion. It's a really rare conversation that she and I had."

Hoda went on to say, "[The film] was so jarring to me and moving that I couldn't believe what they were able to capture in that documentary." She shared, "Celine Dion at some point, she is now much better, but at some point, she almost died, which is something that she says."

Hoda was talking about her interview with Celine during a one-hour primetime special that is set to air on June 11. In the chat, the songstress discusses her health issue and her forthcoming Prime Video documentary titled "I Am Celine Dion", which will premiere on June 25.

Hoda gave more details about the interview on the "Today" show. She stated, "I traveled to Las Vegas and I got to have a rare conversation with Celine Dion. She has not performed live in years and years and a lot of people are wondering what happened [and] what was wrong."

"She was diagnosed with a terrible disease, and at one point, she wondered if she was going to make it, whether she was going to live through it," she added. "And she talks about what it's done to her voice and the possibility of a comeback. We've missed her and it was a very emotional interview. We'll see where she is in her journey of coming back but I know people are cheering her on."

Celine revealed her diagnosis back in 2022. Her condition has seemingly gotten better recently as she made her high-fashion comeback in a Vogue France magazine cover, which was published in April. Earlier in May, she looked in good spirits when she watched The Rolling Stones perform in Las Vegas.
