NYC Mayor Discussing Plan to Revoke Diddy's Key to New York City After Video of Cassie Assault

With public outrage mounting over Diddy's disturbing assault against his then-girlfriend Cassie, NYC Mayor Eric Adams faces a critical decision on whether to revoke the key to city previously handed to the mogul.

AceShowbiz - In a shocking turn of events, surveillance footage from March 2016 surfaced last week, showing P. Diddy assaulting Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel. The video, leaked by CNN, led to widespread condemnation and forced New York City Mayor Eric Adams to reconsider the honor previously granted to the star last September.

Mayor Adams expressed his profound dismay during an interview with PIX11. "I think all of us were deeply disturbed by watching that chilling video of the young lady being assaulted by him, and the committee and the team - we've never rescinded a key before, but we are now sitting down to see what the next steps forward are going to be," he said. "We are taking everything under analysis, and the team will come back to me with a final determination."

The video aligns with the abuse allegations made by Cassie Ventura in a lawsuit last November, accusations which were swiftly settled out of court, though Diddy did not admit guilt. The unsettling footage has further fanned the flames of controversy around Diddy's past actions.

Ventura's lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, highlighted her bravery in a statement to Billboard, "The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs...Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light."

In the wake of backlash, Diddy took to social media on May 19 to issue an apology. "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that," Diddy said. "I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."
