AceShowbiz - As the "Young Sheldon" spin-off drew to a close with its finale, CBS is gearing up for the launch of a new spin-off centered on beloved characters Georgie and Mandy. "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" will follow Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they embrace their roles as parents to their young daughter, CeeCee

Executive producer Steve Holland reveals that "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" will occasionally feature the familiar Cooper family members from "Young Sheldon." "We love these actors and characters, and they're a part of Georgie and Mandy's life," Holland explains. "We hope they can pop up and continue their stories."

To establish its own identity, "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" will switch from the single-camera format of "Young Sheldon" to a multi-cam format like its predecessor, "The Big Bang Theory". Holland confirms that the spin-off will pick up approximately a month after the "Young Sheldon" finale, which saw Sheldon leave for Caltech.

Holland emphasizes that the spin-off will not rely on flashbacks or a backdoor pilot to the "Young Sheldon" finale. Instead, the team aimed to explore Georgie's growth and transformation following the loss of his father, George Sr.

While Mary and Missy's character arcs could potentially be explored in the future, Holland stresses the importance of establishing "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" as its own entity.

In addition to Jordan and Osment, the cast will include Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones as Mandy's parents, Jim and Audrey McAllister. Georgie and Mandy's relocation to her parents' house provides ample opportunities for comedic interactions.

CBS further announced the development of another spin-off in the "The Big Bang Theory Universe", set to stream on Max. No further details have been released at this time.

"Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" will premiere on Thursdays this fall at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
