The British musician has set a new world record by playing 15 shows in 15 different towns in 24 hours, honoring the Music Venue Trust in support of a charity.

AceShowbiz - In an effort to support the Music Venue Trust, a U.K. charity dedicated to grassroots music venues, Frank Turner embarked on a grueling 24-hour challenge. Between May 4 and 5, he played 15 solo sets, each lasting a minimum of 20 minutes, at independent venues across the U.K. Tickets were sold exclusively through independent record shops.

Turner's record-breaking feat surpassed the previous record held by Hunter Hayes, who performed 10 concerts in different cities in 24 hours in 2014. The Flaming Lips previously held the record with eight shows in 2012.

"I'm extremely proud - and yet more exhausted - after completing the challenge to get the world record," Turner said in a statement. "The main drive for me was to highlight the work of independent venues and record shops and the Music Venue Trust, as well as bringing over 3000 people together in 24 hours for a good time."

Turner's record attempt has not yet been officially verified by the Guinness Book of World Records, but the Music Venue Trust plans to submit the evidence required for verification.

Turner's world record is a testament to his unwavering dedication to supporting independent music and the thriving music scene in the U.K. The feat is also a reminder of the importance of grassroots music venues, which provide a platform for emerging artists and contribute to the cultural fabric of communities across the country.
