When addressing the incident in an interview, 'The One That Got Away' singer admits that she knew she was 'rolling the dice' with this particular outfit.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry's top broke in the middle of judging a contestant on "American Idol". However, instead of calling it a wardrobe malfunction, the singer described it as an "interesting moment."
The incident took place before Roman Collins performed "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown. The pop star's silver outfit, designed by Kate Barton, seemed to come loose mid-show.
Addressing the matter, Katy told Access Hollywood, "I wouldn't call it a malfunction." She added, "I'll just call it an interesting moment on live television."
"It seems like every season, I'm either tearing the seam of my pants or ... I'm just super expressive physically," the mom of one further elaborated. "I just love this outfit so much and I knew I was rolling the dice but I was like, who cares?"
After the Monday, April 15 show, Katy shared on Instagram a video from the mishap. The clip showed a group of stylists and crew members, including fellow judge Luke Bryan, gathered behind the singer in an attempt to fix it.
"I need my top to stay on," the fiancee of Orlando Bloom said in the footage. "If it's not fixed, this show is going to get more than it wanted."
At one point, Luke pulled out a pair of scissors and said, "Hey, I got it! I'm going in … Never mind." Moments later, a clip appeared with Katy holding her top close to her chest while still sitting at the judge's panel.
"That song broke my top off... I guess it is a woman's world," Katy quipped. Luke then jokingly excllaimed, "Ratings! Here we come ratings!" In response, the "Fireworks" hitmaker interjected, "It's a family show!"
