During what appeared to be filming for the show, they were joined by their close friend, tennis legend Serena Williams, at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge in Florida.
Harry participated in the charity match while Meghan cheered him on from the sidelines in a white halter dress reminiscent of her 2018 wedding reception attire. She was spotted giving Harry a pep talk before the game and sharing a sweet kiss with him after his team's victory.
Williams, who is a long-time friend of Meghan, was all smiles as she interacted with the royal couple. She shared hugs with Meghan and Harry, giggled, and gossiped on the sidelines. The polo match was held to benefit Sentebale, a charity co-founded by Harry to support African children affected by poverty, inequality, and HIV/AIDS.
Beyond the polo match, Meghan and Williams have a close friendship that spans over a decade. They first met at a Super Bowl party in 2010 and have since bonded over various life events, including their shared experiences as mothers and advocates for women's empowerment.
Williams was even a guest on Meghan's debut podcast episode, where they discussed the double standards women face when they are labeled "ambitious."
In a statement about the upcoming Netflix show, it was announced that it "will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level."
The series is one of two projects that the couple signed with Netflix in 2020. The other project, which is reportedly in the works, will feature Meghan exploring the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.
