AceShowbiz - The cause of the death of Kris Jenner's sister has finally been revealed. Around three weeks after she passed away at the age of 65, Karen Houghton was unveiled to have died from heart issues.
According to a copy of her death certificate, obtained by TMZ, Karen's official cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest and sudden cardiac arrhythmia. It also noted Type 2 diabetes as a secondary underlying cause.
The docs also claimed Karen had bipolar disorder. She was reportedly cremated following her death on March 19.
In the wake of Karen's death, Kris paid tribute to her on Instagram. Posting a carousel of photos of her late sibling throughout her life, the momager wrote, "It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly."
"My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time. Karen was beautiful inside and out," the reality star added. "She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny."
"She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter," Kris continued. "She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together."
The TV personality emphasized the brevity and preciousness of life, urging everyone to express their love for their cherished ones. "Karen's passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised," she noted. "We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister."
Karen was survived by her daughter Zettel and fiance Noah, who had proposed in July 2022.
