The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback confirms rumors that he has been wearing the same piece of red underclothing since 2017, claiming he washes them 'every once in a while.'

AceShowbiz - Patrick Mahomes is a superstitious man and he is not shy to admit it. In a recent interview, the NFL star confirmed rumors that he has worn the same pair of red underwear in every game since his rookie year.
Appearing on ESPN's "ManningCast" for "Monday Night Football" on November 13, the Kansas City Chiefs player defended his decision to keep the underwear. "First, my wife Brittany got them for me, so I'm not throwin' y'all down, but I have to wear 'em, ya know," he told the brothers of his wife Brittany Mahones.
"At the same time, I threw 'em on that first season [and] we had a pretty good season that season," the 28-year-old shared how it all started back in 2017. "I only wear 'em for game day, though," he added, claiming, "So they're not too worn down. They're not these nasty [underwear], I clean them."
Patrick then admitted that he can't wash the undergarments when his team is on a winning streak. "I wash 'em. Every once in a while, at least," he said, before explaining, "I mean, if we're on a hot streak, I can't wash 'em, you know? I've gotta just keep it rolling."
Having no shame about his odd superstition, the NFL quarterback maintained, "As long as I'm winning football games, I'll keep the superstition going."
It was former Chiefs backup quarterback Chris Henne who first revealed Patrick's game day habit. "Each and every day he comes in, he does his work, his notes are written a certain way [and wears] the same pair of underwear which not a lot [of] people know," the Super Bowl champion said back in February.
Though Patrick has chosen to wear the same underwear for every game since he started his NFL career, he won't be short of supply. The father of two and his family recently started a partnership with Kim Kardashian's SKIMS.
The couple and and their two children modeled matching and comfy pajamas from the reality TV star's clothing brand in several snaps for the brand's campaign. While their partnership does not include underwear, the brand recently also launched its line of men's underclothing that featured Canadian basketball player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa and soccer star Neymar as its models.
