AceShowbiz - The ongoing conflict in Middle East may cause a rift in Selena Gomez's friendship with Nicola Peltz Beckham. The former "Bates Motel" star has hinted at a clash with her best friend after Rare Beauty posted a pro-Palestine message on Instagram.

The wife of Brooklyn Beckham has unfollowed Selena's beauty brand on Instagram after the company shared the message in which it pledged donation to Palestinian civilians. The 28-year-old actress, however, still follows Selena's personal Instagram account on the platform.

It's unclear what led to Nicola's decision to unfollow Rare Beauty or if she ever followed Selena's beauty brand in the first place, but the "Transformers: Age of Extinction" star has previously publicly voiced her support for Israel. "I Stand With Israel," so read her Instagram Story shared prior to Rare Beauty's statement.

Selena herself previously came under fire for taking a neutral stance amid the Israel-Palestine war. "We need to protect ALL people, especially children and stop the violence for good. I'm sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can't stand by innocent people getting hurt. That's what makes me sick," she wrote in late October when explaining her break from social media. She claimed, "I wish I could change the world. But a post won't. Love, Selena."

A few days later, the 31-year-old star responded to the backlash by doubling down on her neutral stance. "I do not support any of what's going on," she insisted, but later deleted the message.

Seemingly changing her tune, Selena, through Rare Beauty, pledged to help Palestinian civilians amid the violence taking place in Gaza. On Monday, November 6, her beauty brand released a lengthy statement addressing the war.

"We are devastated by the images & reports coming from the Middle East," the statement began to read. It pointed out, "Thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes & millions of civilians have been displaced & left without access to food, water, medicine, or basic necessities for survival. A large number of these victims are children. Palestinian civilians must be protected, period."

"We remain heartbroken by the horrible terror attack against innocent civilians in Israel on October 7th, many of them also children. There is no situation where attacks on civilians are acceptable," they added. "We strongly denounce any & all forms of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia."
