Through his spokesperson, the Duke of Sussex has responded to reports stating that he would not be attending his father King Charles III's upcoming birthday party despite getting an invitation.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry has set the record straight. Through his spokesperson, the Duke of Sussex has responded to reports stating that he rejected his father King Charles III's invitation to his upcoming 75th birthday party.

In a statement issued on Monday, November 6, the spokesperson insinuated that Prince Harry has yet to receive an invitation to the celebration. "In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty's upcoming birthday," the rep told The Messenger. "It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story."

A royal source also backed the claims. The insider told the outlet that the Buckingham Palace "never reached out" to Harry regarding the bash honoring Charles' milestone on November 14. A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace, meanwhile, declined to comment.

Recently, Daily Mail reported Harry scored an invite to the celebration, which will be attended by the British monarch's family and friends. Harry, however, allegedly decided to skip the soiree amid tension between the father and son duo.

The report further pointed out that it was the second time for Harry to turn down the chance to spend time with his father. Back in September, the husband of Meghan Markle reportedly refused to join the King in Balmoral on the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's death, even though he was on a visit.

The decisions apparently had something to do with the rift in their relationship as the King was not happy with how Harry depicted Queen Camilla as a villain in his bombshell memoir "Spare". A source told The Telegraph, "Communications between the King and Prince Harry remain pretty poor. They don't speak much, if at all."

In his book, Harry wrote, "I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar." He additionally accused Charles and Camilla of "planting stories" about William and his family, saying, "Give Pa and Camilla an inch, he said, they take a mile."
