While unveiling the first image of Zegler as the titular princess along with the seven dwarfs, the studio also announces that the live-action movie is delayed by a year.

AceShowbiz - Disney has treated fans to the first look at live-action "Snow White" which has been plagued with controversies regarding its casting and alleged pseudo-feminist storyline. The studio has debuted an image of Rachel Zegler as the titular princess along with the seven dwarfs.

In the photo, the Golden Globe winner transforms into the Disney Princess with short hair in her iconic blue dress with yellow skirt and red shoes. She is surrounded by the seven dwarves who all have their eyes on her.

The seven dwarfs, Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc, have been reimagined with the help of computer animation. Missing from the picture is Gal Gadot who portrays the Evil Queen. Andrew Burnap also stars in the film as Jonathan, while Ansu Kabia portrays the Huntsman.

The studio apparently unleashed the picture to tide fans over the wait, which now will be longer than expected. On the same day the first-look image was shared online, Disney announced that it is delaying the release of the "Snow White" movie by a year from March 22, 2024 to March 21, 2025 amid the ongoing actors' strike.

Another big offering from the studio to be pushed back is Pixar's animated tentpole "Elio", which is bumped from March 1, 2024 to June 13, 2025.

Meanwhile, in a move unrelated to the strike, Disney and Searchlight have removed Jonathan Majors' new film "Magazine Dreams" from calendar amid his legal troubles stemming from a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. The movie was initially due to open in theaters in December 2023.

The film premiered at Sundance in January and at the time received boost as an award season vehicle for Majors, who plays an aspiring body builder. However, with his trial for assault, strangulation and harassment charges being set for November 29, the studios seemingly want to wait for the outcome before putting their faith on the movie.
