The Marvel Studios' TV series has reportedly brought in a new showrunner and a directing team for the upcoming show centering on Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock.

AceShowbiz - "Daredevil: Born Again" has completed its creative team. The Marvel Studios' TV series has brought in a new showrunner and a directing team for the upcoming show centering on Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dario Scardapane, whose credits include "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" and "The Punisher", has been tapped to serve as showrunner. Meanwhile, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead ("Loki") are set to direct the remaining episodes of the first season of the Disney+ series.

"Daredevil: Born Again" production in New York was interrupted by writers and actors strike. It was reported that some elements of the material, which had been filmed prior to the shutdown, would be incorporated into the series.

Hiring a showrunner is part of Marvel's overhaul when it comes to how it creates TV series, which was previously made like movies. Chris Ord and Matt Corman, who initially served as head writers, have now become executive producers. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige previously announced that "Born Again" would have 18 episodes.

Prior to the Disney+ new iteration of "Daredevil", the story of the blind lawyer-turned-superhero was brought to the small screen through three seasons of Netflix's series "Daredevil" in the mid 2010s. It was said that Marvel wanted to return to the dark, gritty tone from the first series, though the new show will not be a continuation from Netflix's series.

Joining Charlie, Vincent D'Onofrio is set to reprise his "Daredevil" role as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin. Charlie previously reprised his role as Matt in 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and 2022's "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law". As for Vincent's Kingpin, the character appeared on 2021's "Hawkeye". Both Charlie and Vincent will also appear as their respective roles on "Hawkeye" spin-off "Echo".
