AceShowbiz - Kenya Grace has won music fans with her latest single "Strangers". This track marks her major label debut and showcases a unique blend of sad lyrics with upbeat music. The song resonated with listeners around the world, quickly going viral and amassing millions of views on social media platforms.
Her achievement didn't stop there as "Strangers" claimed the top spot on the UK Singles chart, solidifying Kenya Grace as a rising star in the industry. Additionally, the song reached an impressive No. 2 position on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, further cementing her place as an artist to watch.
"Guys this is the most surreal moment of my entire life [crying emojis] I am ETERNALLY grateful to every single one of you who streamed, shared & made videos for strangers!!! UR THE ABSOLUTE BEST PEOPLE EVER & I LOVE U ALL SO MUCH - thanku for changing my life forever !!!!!!" she exclaimed on Instagram in response to her feats.
The success, however, was almost accidental as Kenya originally planned to release a different song. "I was originally [going to lead] with a different song. It's very trance, I was leading that across all my socials and that is coming out soon, but I wrote Strangers as a filler post. I wanted to keep people engaged! When we actually finished it, though, I think everyone knew this was the one to go with," she told UK Official Charts.
The same happened during the creative process. "I don't really sit down and mean to write things, if that makes sense?" she explained.
"It really fascinated me how you can have a relationship with someone, romantic or platonic, where you go from literally seeing them every day for months and months and then you just never speak again. It's quite sad! And I don't know about most people, but I could never handle being friends with my ex. But I didn't even mean to start writing about this! It just happened. I just felt so strongly about how sad it is."
