In another new update from the incident in Las Vegas, cops review security footage at Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel which allegedly reveals that the singer mistakenly smacks herself in the face.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears might be blaming the wrong person for the alleged physical assault that she recently experienced. According to a new report, the pop star may have mistakenly struck herself in the face during the incident.

The 41-year-old singer has accused Victor Wembanyama's bodyguard of slapping her in the face when she approached him in Las Vegas. In one of new updates shared by TMZ, cops have allegedly reviewed security camera footage at Catch restaurant in the ARIA Hotel, where the alleged incident happened.

The footage allegedly shows Damian Smith, the Director of Team Security for the Spurs, pushing Britney's hand away and then her hand, not Damian's, struck her face. Cops did not address the velocity of the force of the swing though.

The same news outlet previously reported that it's Damian who carried out the alleged assault, not Victor's bodyguard.

In an interview with ESPN reporters, Victor claimed he was unaware his security slapped Britney and believes that the bodyguard just "pushed" her away. "Something did happen a little bit when I was walking with some security of the team to some restaurant. We were in a hall and there was a lot of people so people were calling me obviously," he recalled.

He claimed that Britney "grabbed" him "from behind," but he did not stop. "I didn't see what happened because I was walking straight and they told me 'Don't stop.' But that person grabbed me from behind, grabbed on my shoulder. She grabbed me from behind so I just know that the security pushed her away," he recounted.

Sharing her side of the story, Britney claimed she didn't grab Victor, but "tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention." She went on alleging, "His security then back handed me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd. Nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses off my face. I get swarmed by people all the time."

The "Hold It Against Me" singer admitted that the whole ordeal was "super embarrassing" and she was left "traumatized." She also seeks for an apology from the basketball star.

Britney allegedly filed a police report regarding the incident, which has become a "criminal investigation." The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that "officers responded to a property in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard regarding a battery investigation" around 11 P.M. on Wednesday.
