The 'Vampire Diaries' alum reveals on 'Live with Kelly and Mark' that she was once considered for a role on the HBO series, but she decided to turn down the offer due to an NSFW reason.

AceShowbiz - Nina Dobrev almost starred on "Boardwalk Empire". "The Vampire Diaries" alum revealed in a new interview that she was once considered for a role on the HBO series, but she decided to turn down the offer due to an NSFW reason.

During her appearance on "Live with Kelly and Mark" on Tuesday, July 4, Nina reflected on when she started her acting career at 19. The 34-year-old revealed that she got offers from both "The Vampire Diaries" and "Boardwalk Empire", but there's a catch.

"I wasn't allowed to test for both 'Vampire Diaries' and 'Boardwalk Empire'," she revealed. "And I didn't know, like, how do you make a decision?"

Host Kelly Ripa then quipped, "There was no bad choice - they were both great." Nina responded, "I think the thing that ended up being the deciding factor was that, I was 19 or 20, and 'Boardwalk Empire' required me sign a nudity clause. But it wasn't in the script. It was like, at some point, there might be nudity and you'll have to do it."

The Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce depicter on The CW's iconic supernatural drama shared that at the time, she felt too young for nude scenes. She added that she was kind of scared and not very comfortable with the nudity possibility.

"Obviously, now in retrospect I look back on it and I'm like, 'Well, should have done it then,' " she noted. Kelly then joked, "If I had your body I'd insist! I'd be doing this show nude! I'd be like, there needs to be a nudity clause at all times!"

Seemingly agreeing with the host, Nina divulged, "I was never younger and perkier than when I was 19. So if I was going to do it, I should have done it then."
