AceShowbiz - "Survivor" aired its season 44 finale on Wednesday, May 24. In the finale, the remaining 5 players, Carolyn Wiger, Lauren Harpe, Yam Yam Arocho, Carson Garrett and Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, were competing for the last time in order to take home the $1 million prize.
At the beginning of the episode, Lauren tried to mess with the "Tika 3", which included Carolyn, Carson and Yam Yam, by suggesting to vote out Carson. The players were required to collect keys while running a three-level obstacle course, then solve a big puzzle at the end during the immunity challenge.
Carson ended up being the winner and he decided to pick Yam Yam to get the reward alongside him. Yam Yam saw Carolyn as the biggest threat, while Carson thought that Lauren had too many close relationships on the jury. He additionally pointed out that Lauren won two immunity challenges.
At the camp, on the other hand, Lauren, Heidi and Carolyn planned to vote Yam Yam out. Lauren told Carolyn that Yam Yam tried to get her eliminated at the last vote and she showed her emotions when Yam Yam returned. As he realized that he was in trouble, Yam Yam put his target on Lauren. However, they considered picking Heidi because Yam Yam and Carson were worried that Lauren could have an immunity idol. In the final immunity challenge, the remaining players had to roll a ball through a maze and catch it with one hand before it hit the ground. Carolyn was the first to drop, followed by Yam Yam and then Carson. That meant Heidi won her first immunity challenge and was sent to the Top 3.
As the winner, Heidi got to decide who she wanted to bring with her to the final 3, while the other two had to battle to make fire to earn the last spot in the final 3. Heidi decided to give Carolyn an automatic spot in the final 3 and then chose Carson to be one of the people to make fire.
She then revealed that she would go against Carson in the battle of making fire and sent Yam Yam to the final 3. She hoped that it would give her better gameplay in front of the jury if she beat Carson. Heidi did win over Carson and joined Carolyn and Yam Yam in the final 3.
It was time to plead their cases in front of the eight jury members. Yam Yam claimed he and the other Tika members always knew where the vote was going after the merge. As for Carolyn, she noted how underestimated she was because of her quirkiness. Heidi, meanwhile, bragged about playing a different game than Carolyn and Yam Yam. Eventually, Yam Yam was named as the winner of "Survival" season 44!
