When sharing the unfortunate news on her social media page, the 'Truth Hurts' singer assures that she 'will make it up' to those who had bought tickets and reschedule the gig.

AceShowbiz - Lizzo was left apologetic to concertgoers for having to cancel her Montreal show. Hours before she was scheduled to take the stage at Bell Centre in the Canadian city, the "Juice" hitmaker regretfully informed fans that her health issues hindered her from doing so.

On Thursday, May 4, the 35-year-old took to Instagram to share a clip of her explaining what happened behind the last minute cancellation. Wrapped in a blanket with a mask covering her face, she said, "I had a sore throat last night and a headache, and I went to bed."

"I woke up this morning and my body is weak and I have chills, and my head hurts," the "About Damn Time" songstress went on to say. She continued, "Normally, if it's just a cold, I'd shower, I'd eat, take some medicine and it gets better. But this is getting worse. I think it's the flu. And I have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel today."

In the same video, Lizzo assured devotees that their tickets would still be valid for a new show date. "I want to find a date to reschedule, but I just can't perform tonight," she added. "This is the second time I've ever had to cancel due to health, in my entire career, and I will make it up to you Montreal. I'm so sorry."

Along with the video, the "Truth Hurts" singer wrote a simple caption that read, "Montreal I'm so sorry but I physically cannot do the show." She then reassured those who had bought tickets for the May 4 gig by saying, "I promise we will honor your tickets."

That same day, Lizzo also made use of Twitter to uncover more of her condition. In a tweet from her locked Twitter account, she wrote, "Im so sad YALL just found out I have 102 fever."

Evenko, the event organizer for Lizzo's Montreal show, has also released a brief statement about the cancellation. On its website, the company noted, "As per doctor's orders, Lizzo is unable to perform tonight at the Bell Centre. More details will be announced soon for the new date."

Lizzo was set to perform at 8 P.M. at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada for "The Special 2our" with rapper Latto (formerly Mulatto), as her special guest. She is scheduled to perform at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday, May 6. Her latest revelation leaves it uncertain whether the Saturday gig will also be affected.
