The Grammy Award-winning rapper lands in hot water after a video surfaced of him dancing with a scantily-clad woman and slapping her butt while attending Carnival 2023 in Jamaica.

AceShowbiz - Is Chance The Rapper to be blamed for dancing with another woman who is not his wife? As people have been weighing in on a video of the rapper dancing "inappropriately" with a scantily-clad woman at Carnival 2023 in Jamaica, the woman in the video has come to his defense.

Model Mela Mills has spoken up after the video that she posted on Monday, April 17 went viral and earned Chance some backlash. On Tuesday, she took to Twitter to respond to the controversy that it caused.

Mela reposted DJ Akademiks tweet that captioned the video with, "Chance the rapper said 'Ain't no mo Gospel album talmbout I Love my wife bih….' " She then wrote, "Y'all doing too much now," adding several crying emojis and a face with tears of joy emoji.

Model Mela Mills defended Chance The Rapper after backlash over their dancing video.

In the video which was originally uploaded by Mela on her Instagram page, she's seen grinding on shirtless Chance as he leaned back and slapped her butt. He was holding a drink in one hand as another man, possibly a bodyguard, closely watched the singer/songwriter.

After the video went viral, many slammed Chance over his behavior, bringing up his marital status. "Isn't he married???" one person reacted to the video. A second similarly asked, "Ain't you married?"

A third critic said, "The side eye is because he slapped her ass, he did not understand the assignment. West Indian ppl don't do that. It's a whine and no more don't do that s**t." Someone else commented, "He has no class."

Some others came to Chance's defense though, as one said, "This is definitely not inappropriate unless he and his wife had a conversation & she didn't want him to attend. If you attend then you may end up dancing & having fun. That's the point of the event."

"It's Carnival. Y'all gotta relax," another claimed. A third defender added, "Everyone bringing up his wife. Dancing especially at carnival not that deep. You could dance w a stranger and never see em again. Married or not."

Chance married his longtime girlfriend Kirsten Corley in March 2019. In September 2015, they welcomed their first child, 7-year-old Kensli, who was kept out of social media until December 2016. The pair split earlier that year, but they later got back together in July 2018. In September 2019, Kirsten announced that they had their second daughter named Marli.
