The 'Drip Too Hard' hitmaker denies he was ever invited to perform at the upcoming LGBTQ+ event as Pride in The District admits that it fell victim to a scam.

AceShowbiz - Lil Baby did not bow out of an LGBTQ+ event. In fact, the rapper was never in talks to perform at the DC Pride event after confusion over his canceled appearance at the event that led to homophobic allegations against him.

On Tuesday, April 11, Pride in The District proudly announced on its social media page that Lil Baby would headline the DC Pride event on Sunday, May 28. However, it later backtracked on its announcement.

"Unfortunately, we have yet to come to a conclusion as to what exactly transpired yesterday with the booking of Lil Baby," the organization said in a statement on early Wednesday. "However, we are not going to let that stop our show because at the end of the day, we had already sold hundreds of passes and we WILL STILL sell the entire stock before Memorial Weekend."

"Hopefully, we'll be able to rectify the situation promptly or we will do our best to find an alternative solution. If not, the parties will still go on!!!" it added, before being able to reach to Lil Baby's team.

Later on the day, Pride in The District gave an update on the situation. "This statement here is to address everyone about the Lil Baby situation. We have finally reached someone from his camp and we were informed that Lil Baby and his agency WME were not aware of the PITD booking and have come to the conclusion that we were in fact scammed by someone posing to be a booking agent," it revealed.

Defending the hip-hop artist against allegations that he doesn't support the LGBTQ+ community, the organization said, "We would appreciate it if the individuals calling Lil Baby homophobic would stop immediately because that is simply a personal opinion and simply put, tasteless. Nobody knows this man personally to be saying that so stop it. We would like to move forward from this situation and enjoy pride the way it should be enjoyed."

"Hopefully, one day we will be able to secure Lil Baby the correct way when his schedule permits," it continued. "Furthermore, we would like to apologize to Lil Baby, his team, our costumers, any anyone else for any inconvenience this may have caused," it added, before concluding, "Pride is about coming together and having fun and we will do just that!"

A rep for Lil Baby has also clarified the situation to The Neighborhood Talk. "He never even knew of this event and none of his team or agents were ever in contact with Pride In the District. A scammer must have posed as a rep of his. Lil Baby never pulled out of anything with this as he was never booked or contacted in the first place," the rep stated, stressing that the 28-year-old star has nothing against the LGBTQ+ community.
