The 26-year-old hip-hop artist allegedly broke into his mother's home and fired shots inside the house, hitting his mom, sister and brother, before the scheduled release of his music video.

AceShowbiz - A Virginia rapper is making headlines for doing the unthinkable. The hip-hop star, who went by the name EGYPXN, reportedly shot his family and released a music video before being gunned down by police.

According to ABC 8 News, the artist, born Tiye Adam Washington II, broke into his mother's home on Tuesday, March 28. He then fired shots inside the house, hitting his mother Tyesha Hall, his 21-year-old sister and his 12-year-old brother.

EGYPXN later fled the scene, prompting a citywide search for the 26-year-old by law enforcement. His family members were transported to VCU Medical Critical Care to treat their life-threatening injuries and are reportedly still in recovery.

While the manhunt was still ongoing, his "Be Free" music video was released. According to The Source, the release of the visuals was pre-scheduled and it has since garnered over 43k views on YouTube.

On Thursday, March 30, authorities located EGYPXN in Rutherford County, North California. A shootout ensued, during which he was shot and killed. A police officer was also injured in the standoff.

Just one day before his demise, the star uploaded a message to Instagram to express his "last request." He penned, "My last request from humanity is that you seriously evaluate the care you have for each other. If this species is to ever evolve you must stop eating animals, stop warring with each other and take care of mother earth." He continued, "Overthrow this sadistic government and rebuild. On a fresh foundation. It’s time for me to rest now."

The motive of this violence is still unclear as a family friend, Tamara Harris, said, "To my knowledge, there were no issues that would have led to such a tragic event." Another family friend, Roneece Walker-Jewett, weighed in on the tragedy, "I didn't believe them, and I called [Tyesha's] ex-husband, and he actually got on the scene. I can hear the paramedics in the background saying (...) 'female, two shots to the chest.' "
