The news arrives after the 'Unholy' hitmaker, along with their collaborator Kim Petras, made history at the 2023 Grammy Awards, scooping Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award.

AceShowbiz - Sam Smith is about to star in the upcoming series of "Sex and the City" reboot show, "And Just Like That…". The "Unholy" hitmaker has hinted at their appearance in the upcoming season of the series.

On Wednesday, February 22, the Grammy-winning singer, along with the show's Instagram account, shared two pictures of themselves on the set of the show in New York. The snapshots showed the singer sitting outside a trailer. "Up to something unholy onset," they captioned the photo, in reference to their recent hit song.

The post definitely sent fans into a frenzy, with many expressing their excitement in the comments section. "Omggg I'm so excited for the next season [fire emoji]," one wrote. Another exclaimed, "I CANNOT HANDLE THIS," while someone else chimed in, "Living for this."

"And Just Like That…" reunited original franchise stars Sarah Jessica Parker, as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon, as Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis, as Charlotte York. The romantic comedy drama jumps 20 years in the characters' lives and follows them taking on a "new chapter" as they navigate life and friendship in their 50s in New York City.

Sam's involvement in the show comes after Sarah also revealed the return of actor John Corbett to the "Sex and the City" follow-up. John's character, furniture designer Aiden Shaw, became a love interest for Sarah after first appearing in season three of "Sex and the City".

The original series ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004, as well as two feature films released in 2008 and 2010. "And Just Like That…" first aired on HBO in December 2021 and was renewed for a second season in March 2022.

The news arrived after Sam, along with their "Unholy" collaborator Kim Petras, made history at the 2023 Grammy Awards. The 30-year-old crooner, who uses "they/them" pronouns, became the first non-binary artist to win in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, while the German pop songstress became the first trans woman to take home the award.
