Flav said he "started letting people know what I was doing when I was getting tired of being like that." He further explained, "There's a point and time in life where you get tired of doing s**t… Mainly when it doesn't get you no place."

"I guess God wanted me to live. And he knows that I'm a mouthpiece to the world," the rap star stated. "So, I feel that God let me live through that, so that way, I could teach people about the mistakes that I made. And hopefully, they won't make them later on in life."

Flav, who said he'd been on" coke and crack, weed, alcohol, cigarettes - for 18 years straight," disclosed that he's "been clean now, off of that s**t, for the last 15 years." He detailed, "I haven't done coke and crack man for the last 15 years. Not only that but I'm proud to say that I haven't drunk alcohol in the last two and a half years. I haven't smoked cigarettes in the last two and a half years. So I've been clean and sober. I still smoke my weed."
