Prior to this, the 20-year-old actress portraying Wednesday Addams on 'Wednesday' said that she believes her character on the hit Netflix series is a gay icon.

AceShowbiz - Jenna Ortega has made headlines following the release of Netflix series "Wednesday". This time, however, the Wednesday Addams depicter goes viral after she showed love to a fan who held a lesbian flag at the 2022 Comic Con Experience.

In footage that has since gone viral on social media, the 20-year-old actress could be seen attending the "biggest pop culture festival in the world" in Sao Paulo, Brazil wearing an all-black outfit. At one point, the young star, who held a microphone in her left hand, noticed a female fan who held a lesbian flag.

Upon noticing the seven-colored flag, Jenna turned around, waved and smiled at the female fan. The actress portraying Vada Cavell in "The Fallout" even stopped for a second to give the fan a thumbs up. The video has been watched nearly 3 million times on Twitter.

Prior to this, Jenna said that she thinks her character on "Wednesday" is a gay icon. "I think because she's a bada**. She's cool, she's got a nice sense of style, but she's somebody who embraces her differences and isn't out to please anybody. I feel like that's a really, really powerful thing to see," she told Gayety, "I feel like people want to see powerful women with powerful women."

Fans have also speculated that Wednesday may actually be queer or asexual herself. On top of that, Jenna said she doubts Wednesday will date Xavier in season 2. Speaking to MTV News, she said, "Now that Tyler's off the table, I feel like she's off of boys for a while. I feel like her and Xavier are just getting to a safe place. I think there's an opportunity there for a really sweet platonic relationship."

"Because I don't think it's shown often enough, men and women having safe platonic relationships that don't become romantic and are just genuine, almost sibling-like relationships," she elaborated more. "I think that'd be wonderful to see."

"Wednesday" was released on Netflix on November 23. Just ten days following the release of the 8-episode series, Jenna gained over 10 million followers on Instagram.
