The model/actress receives mixed reactions after revealing that she bought her 1-year-old son Sylvester a baby doll and a tea set as he is 'crazy' about trucks.

AceShowbiz - Emily Ratajkowski is definitely one of the Hollywood stars who break the gender mold, but this time many believe she went a little bit too far. The model/actress has sparked debate on social media after she revealed she bought her son some girl toys to "balance" his interest in gendered toys.

While speaking to Julia Fox about single parenting in the Tuesday, November 8 episode of "High Low" podcast, the "Gone Girl" actress said she gave her 1-year-old boy Sylvester a baby doll and a tea set as he is "crazy" about trucks. "Sly literally gets so excited. [He] loves to play with things with wheels," she said. "But is this just what he likes naturally?"

Emily added that Sylvester also has a pink convertible, saying she gets "so sad" thinking about him being pressured to "toughen up" in the future. "I'm like, are those the little ways you can start making sure the conditioning doesn't happen?" so asked the 31-year-old beauty. "And spending a lot of time around women?"

However, Emily's opinion quickly sparked debate on social media. Some critics wondered why Emily "forces him to play with toys he prefers less." One person commented on Twitter, "Why not let him just play with what he likes instead of forcing him to play with toys he prefers less??" Another slammed Emily as writing, "If he's truck obsessed then let him play with his dam* trucks. She's another incredibly annoying wokey."

A third pointed out, "That has NOTHING to do with gender. I occasionally played with my sisters' dolls and such but that made no difference to masculinity or my sexual preference for women." Someone else echoed, "Someone please tell her that little boys and girls are very different in what they like and dont like."

Others, in the meantime, applauded Emily for her decision. "My nephew loved his kitchenette. My Sister wanted to teach him that kitchens arent just for girls, so Bravo!" one person gushed. A second simply stated, "Smart mother." Another posted, "Incredible, not all hero's wear capes."

Meanwhile, Julia agreed with Emily's statement. Kanye West's former fling shared in the podcast that her 1-year-old son Valentino also "loves trucks" and "freaks out" over them. She further noted that her son is also into "pushing around a little stroller with a doll in it" and has a pink truck.

"It's hard as a single mom, raising a son, you just don't want them to end up like every single guy you've ever met, you know?" Julia elaborated. The "Uncut Gems" actress went on questioning herself, "How do I stop this conditioning from occurring?"

Julia shares her son with her ex Peter Artemiev. The former couple called it quits after Valentino's January 2021 arrival. As for Emily, she welcomed Sylvester in March 2021 with her now-estranged husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard.
