The one-half of musical duo Chloe x Halle confirmed earlier this month that she wrote the newly-released Latto-assisted track with her rumored love interest in mind.

AceShowbiz - Chloe Bailey comes clean about her relationship with Gunna on her new song "For the Night". After releasing the Latto (Mulatto)-assisted track on Thursday, October 27, it soon becomes apparent that she shades her rumored love interest on the song.

On the new single, the one-half of R&B duo Chloe x Halle reveals why her bond with Gunna never got stronger. "I ask myself why we can't be closer/ I play those same games a thousand times over/ And you crave those long nights with me, oh, don't you?" she sings.

The 24-year-old insinuates that Gunna would be gone before they could spend any meaningful time together as she serenades, "Lovе when you call me baby/ Make mе feel like a lady/ And we go rough around that K.O., love is never lazy/ But when I wake up, you ain't there and now I'm going crazy."

Chloe continues to blast Gunna for allegedly having multiple flings, "I know them other girls, yeah, they all the same/ You can have the world or you can have a lay ... You and your mouth, cashing checks that you know gonna bounce/ You say you promise and promise, you'll figure it out/ But I can not wait, you're teasing me, I back down."

Chloe confirmed earlier this month that she wrote "For the Night" with Gunna in mind. "I'ma tell y'all a little secret about 'For the Night'," she said during a Twitter Spaces chat. After taking a deep breath, the songstress continued, "I might regret saying this, but hey, maybe it'll help f**king streams. I don't even think he knows this. I wrote 'For the Night' about Gunna."

"I'm a songwriter, I write my own s**t. I get inspired by the smallest things, so kiss my a**," the "Have Mercy" hitmaker added. She said she wrote the song following Gunna's appearance on "The Breakfast Club" in January where he said he wasn't ready to settle down.

"I'm becoming ready, I'm growing into being ready," the incarcerated rapper said during the interview. "Because I understand having a girlfriend and having a wife, you gotta have stability when it's time. So I think I'm getting there."

Chloe also addressed the criticism that she never spoke about Gunna's legal issue. "Talkin' bout why don't I say, 'Free this, free that.' Kiss my a**. I support in real life, thank you," she stressed. She, however, clarified that she's single as saying, "But I'm single. I'm single, guys. Sorry to bust bubbles, but when I wrote that song months ago, I wrote it about him. Yup, I said it, b***hes."
