AceShowbiz - Kanye West can now add runway model to his resume. The "Donda" artist made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week while opening Balenciaga's Summer 2023 collection on Sunday, October 2.
At the event, the Yeezy designer dressed in an all-black outfit, which consisted of black leather pants, a jacket featuring a "security" patch as well as a matching baseball cap. The rapper turned heads as he walked the mud-filled runway in full confidence.
Of the mud-runway, Balenciaga's creative director Denma Gvasalia described it as "a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth." Demna explained, "I've decided to no longer explain my collections and verbalize my designs, but to express a state of mind."
"Fashion is a visual art and all we need is for it to be seen through someone's eyes. Fashion in its best case scenario should not need a story to be sold to someone. You either like it or not. The set of this show is a metaphor for digging for truth and being down to earth," he continued.
According to Elle, Kanye's children North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint West all attended the Balenciaga showcase. North previously made sure that she caught everyone's attention as she channeled her famous parents Kim Kardashian and Ye.
On Saturday, the fourth grader was snapped sporting a full leather face mask as she returned to her hotel in Paris. During the outing, the 9-year-old kept the rest of her look low-key, wearing an oversized black T-shirt, black-and-white print pants and thick soled Crocs.
North's fashion looked identical to what Kim donned in Paris back in July. At the time, the SKIMS founder made headlines as she wore a plastic mask with her sequined black Balenciaga gown. Ye, meanwhile, opted for the same fashion style during an outing in August.
