Despite stepping down as senior working royals for a life in America, the former actress' children, 3-year-old Archie and 1-year-old Lili, become Prince and Princess of Sussex.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly now technically a prince following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. His younger sister, Lilibet "Lili" Mountbatten-Windsor, named after the late British monarch's childhood nickname, is also said to be entitled to be a princess following the death of Her Majesty.

Rules laid out by King George V in 1917 mean Archie and Lili, as the children of a son of a sovereign, also now have an HRH style if they choose to use it, MailOnline is reporting. It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stopped using their HRH styles after they stepped down as senior working royals for a life in America.

Archie, three, is technically history's first Prince of Sussex and one-year-old Lili is the first Princess of Sussex. The claim about their HRH titles comes amid a major shuffle in the line of succession to the U.K. throne in light of Queen Elizabeth's death aged 96 on Thursday, September 8, at her home in Balmoral.

The Duke of Cambridge is expected to become the Prince of Wales after his father was named King Charles III. Prince William is now heir to the throne of the United Kingdom after Prince Charles' accession following the Queen's death. The royal's wife the Duchess of Cambridge is also set to take on the new title of the Princess of Wales/

William is the oldest of the royals among the top eight in line and is followed by his three children Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and four-year-old Prince Louis, four. Following the Cambridges are the Duke of Sussex, as well as his children Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet, followed by Prince Andrew and his two daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York.

The update is expected as the Prince of Wales title is not Charles' per se, but is conferred on the heir apparent, who then vacates the honor when he ascends to the throne.
