The 'King Richard' star receives outpouring support from his followers after jokingly hinting at his fear to return to social media following his controversial behavior at the March awards-giving ceremony.

AceShowbiz - Will Smith appears to be feeling sheepish about returning to social media after taking a hiatus following his controversial Oscars moments. The actor has teased his return to Instagram with a hilarious video.
On Friday, August 19, the "King Richard" star posted a video that hinted at his fear to return to social media. In the clip, a young gorilla is seen poking and lurking around a grown gorilla from behind. Feeling annoyed, the larger gorilla would swipe the younger gorilla away only for the latter to return and do the same thing again.
This time, the adult gorilla runs after the little gorilla in frustration. Smith accompanied the short clip with an overlaying text that read, "Me trying to get back on social."
In the comments section, Smith received outpouring support from his fans and followers, who have missed his presence on the photo-sharing platform. One of them was from Justin Bieber, who wrote, "We miss u."
Another has forgiven Smith for the Oscars slap as saying, "One moment can't erase 30 plus years of good will, put your jersey on and get back in the game." A third excitedly greeted Smith, "Welcome back!!!" as another wrote, "We love & miss you Will."
Smith apologized again via Instagram in late last month for slapping Chris Rock onstage at the 2022 Academy Awards back in March. In a video, he said he was "deeply remorseful" and claimed, "I've reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he's not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you, Chris, 'I apologize to you.' My behavior was unacceptable and I'm here whenever you are ready to talk."
The 53-year-old actor also apologized to Chris' mother and entire family, saying, "I just didn't realize how many people got hurt in that moment, so I want to apologize to Chris's mother. I want to apologize."
Smith's ex-wife Sheree Zampino also defended him, asking the public to forgive him for his mistake. "I hope people allow [Will] to be human," she said to Daily Mail. "I really hope for that because I stand in support of him, we are on good terms." She added, "You cannot heal without forgiveness."
