Meta has banned the controversial influencer, who has been receiving backlash over misogynist posts on social media, from the company's social media platforms, Instagram and Facebook.

AceShowbiz - Meta has taken action against controversial influencer Andrew Tate, who describes himself as misogynist. It has been revealed that the company has banned him from Meta platforms, Instagram and Facebook.

In an email on Friday, August 19, Meta shared that the former kickboxer and reality TV star was removed for violating Meta policies "on dangerous organizations and individuals."

Tate rose to fame in 2016. At the time, he was removed from the reality TV series "Big Brother" over a video of him attacking a woman that surfaced online. Not stopping there, Tate has been receiving backlash for his controversial posts on social media.

Back in 2017, he tweeted that women belong in the home and that rape victims "bear responsibility" for their attack." The post prompted Twitter to permanently ban him from the platform. In one of his YouTube videos, Tate also proudly called himself "absolute mysogynist." He explained, "I'm a realist and when you're a realist, you're sexist. There's no way you can be rooted in reality and not be sexist."

Meanwhile, Tate claimed in a statement to The Guardian that many of his videos were parody, adding that he was "playing a comedic character." He said, "Internet sensationalism has purported the idea that im [sic] anti women when nothing could be further from the truth. I am genuinely innocent."

Instagram and Twitter aren't the only platforms that get Tate banned. TikTok has also banned his official account on their platform in addition to working to remove content related to him that violates guidelines. "Misogyny is a hateful ideology that is not tolerated on TikTok," a TikTok spokesperson said of Tate, who is a vocal supporter of Donald Trump. "We've been removing violative videos and accounts for weeks, and we welcome the news that other platforms are also taking action against this individual."
