AceShowbiz - Justin Sutherland has finally offered a taste of his injuries from his boating accident. Having gone through several surgeries to recover from the horrific event, the "Top Chef" alum took to his social media account to offer his fans a first look at his gruesome scars and to give them an update on his condition.

Making use of his Instagram account, the celebrity chef let out on Sunday, July 10 a photo that displayed a clear view of his healing face. In it, part of his nose, cheek and eyelid could be seen being peppered with stitches. Along with it, he shared a caption that read, "The pain means you're alive. The scars mean you've survived."

Though going through a difficult period due to his severe injuries from the boating accident, the "Iron Chef America" winner still felt optimistic about getting well. "A 'few' more surgeries to go…," he pointed out in his caption, and added the hashtags of "#comingbackstrongerthanbefore" and "#thelongroad."

Justin accidentally fell near a boat's propeller on Sunday, July 3 when he went boating with friend during a day off. Soon after the incident, his friend Beth Gillies set up a GoFundMe account for him and offered an update on his condition. "With some time, [Justin] will possibly be better than fine," she assured fans. "He is adding more character to the face we know and love, and the most important news, his beard is intact."

On the page, Beth also shared details about what led to the horrific incident. Noting that Justin was the "Captain" during the disastrous excursion, she further dished, "While piloting his boat, Justin's hat blew off. He tried to grab it, hit a wave, and was knocked off the boat. He fell into the water near the motor, and the propeller did a number on his head and left arm."

"His arm is broken, but his grip remains strong and there appears to be no nerve damage," Beth went on listing Justin's injuries. "His jaw is severely broken, but doctors are optimistic that with several more surgeries he will be grinning in no time. In addition to his broken bones, he sustained many lacerations, but with plastic surgery, they will become a reminder of his survival story."
