In a recorded deposition, Tracey Jacobs contradicts Depp's current agent's claim that the actor lost job opportunities because of the 'Aquaman' actress' op-ed.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp's former agent said his "unprofessional behavior" hurt his career, not Amber Heard. Tracey Jacobs, who was Depp's agent for 30 years before being fired by the movie star back in 2016, spoke up against the actor in a recorded deposition in the case.
In the videotaped deposition played in court on Thursday, May 19, the United Talent Agency (UTA) agent said it had become difficult to represent him because of his lateness and substance abuse. "He became the biggest star in the world," she said, before adding, "His star had dimmed due to it getting harder to get him jobs given the reputation he had acquired due to his lateness and other things."
"Showing up late to set consistently on virtually every movie. I would get yelled at," Jacobs explained. "I never said to him, 'You're a difficult client.' I never used those words. But I was very honest with him and said, 'You've got to stop doing this. This is hurting you.' And it did."
Jacobs went on sharing, "Initially, crews loved him because he was always so great with the crew. But crews don't love sitting around for hours and hours and hours waiting for the star of the movie to show up." She added, "And it also got around town. I mean, people talk; it's a small community. It made people reluctant to use him toward the end [of us working together]."
Jacobs' testimony contradicts Depp's current agent's claim that his career began to decline after Heard's op-ed. Jack Whigham also said the 2018 op-ed damaged his client's reputation that caused him to lose a deal to star in "Pirates of the Caribbean 6".
"After the op-ed, it was impossible to get him a studio film, which is what we normally would have been focused on in that time period," Whigham argued in court earlier this month. "With respect to Johnny, it was catastrophic, because it was a first-person account. It was not from a journalist, it was not from an observer, it was from someone saying, 'This happened to me.' "
