The shocking display of the 24-year-old Maryland rapper's dead body on the stage of Bliss Nightclub in Washington D.C. has prompted an apology from the venue.

AceShowbiz - Goonew's closed ones clearly have an unordinary way to pay respects to him following his death. The rapper's dead body was propped up in a club in an appalling funeral over the weekend.

According to reports, the 24-year-old's dead body was put on display on the stage of Bliss Nightclub in Washington D.C. on Sunday, April 3 for a homegoing celebration. Videos circulating online show his apparent embalmed body propped up on stage wearing designer clothing and a crown.

A source who attended the public memorial titled "The Last Show" said attendee was charged $40 to enter the venue. It's unclear who arranged the public viewing, while people have expressed their shock on social media over the disrespectful funeral.

"No way Goonew mother allowed that (crap)," one fan reacted. Another pissed-off user commented, "horrifying to say the least." 50 Cent also weighed in on it, exclaiming in a since-deleted tweet, "Oh (crap)! I just realized what this is."

The nightclub has since released an apology for the event, claiming that they were unaware of "what would transpire." A statement issued via their social media pages read, "Our deepest condolences to Goonew's family, friends and fans. Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew's home-going celebration."

"Bliss was never made aware of what would transpire," they added. "We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended. Please keep Goonew's family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time."

Goonew, whose real name is Markelle Antonio Morrow, was killed during a shooting incident in District Heights, Maryland on March 18. No suspect has been arrested. Prince George's County PD is offering a $25,000 reward for any info that would lead to a conviction or arrest.

His family believes he was the victim of an armed robbery. His mother said the "No Diss" rhymer, also known as Big Whizzle, gave up everything the suspect wanted, but he was still shot in the back.
