AceShowbiz - Kanye West will no longer be performing at the 2022 Coachella. If a new report is to be believed, the "Famous" rapper pulled out of his headlining set less than two weeks before the festival begins.
Revealing the news was TMZ. Sources connected to the Yeezy designer additionally revealed that Travis Scott (II), who was supposed to join the "Donda" artist onstage at the Indio, California event, will not appear either.
It remains unclear why Kanye decided to back out. However, in February, he threatened to pull out of this year's festival if fellow headliner Billie Eilish did not apologize to Travis over her alleged dig.
The ex-husband of Kim Kardashian believed that the "Bad Guy" hitmaker was shading Travis when she paused her Atlanta show to retrieve an asthma inhaler for a seemingly distressed fan in the audience. Thus, Ye wrote on Instagram, "COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES," referring to the Astroworld tragedy.
"NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN," the father of four emphasized. "TRAV DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED... NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM [at Coachella, where Billie is also set to headline]."
The post didn't go unnoticed by Billie. Instead of apologizing to the "SICKO MODE" spitter, the "Happier Than Ever" songstress defended herself by commenting, "Literally never said a thing about Travis... Was just helping a fan."
In mid-March, thousands of people signed a petition for Kanye's removal from Coachella amid his drama with Kim and her current boyfriend, Pete Davidson. "We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now. No one seems to want to stand up to him, and the ones that do, he puts under fire as well," the petition on Change.org read. "Most recently, he has been threatening actual bodily harm on others."
