In 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness', Stephen Strange will team up with Scarlet Witch as he deals with the repercussion of events in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and 'Loki'.

AceShowbiz - While little is known from the recently unveiled "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" official trailer, many reports have run rampant on the internet about plot details of the movie. One of the interesting plot leaks reveals how the upcoming movie will bring in mutant characters from Fox-Marvel film franchises.

[SPOILER ALERT!] The swirling theory states that Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) will accidentally tear open the multiverse open following "Spider-Man: No Way Home". This will allow the "Doctor Strange" sequel to welcome such characters as Charles Xavier (possibly played by Patrick Stewart), Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Black Bolt of The Inhumans and a member of the Fantastic Four to the MCU.

However, some fans were displeased with the idea, as they called it "lazy writing." One upset fan noted, "Yep, I do think bringing in mutants into the MCU will be Feige's biggest challenge. It will be difficult to established they always existed in the MCU, when they'll look bad for not helping with defeating Thanos. But fans will also call it 'lazy writing' if they use the Multiverse as a way of bringing them into the MCU."

Another weighed in on the theory, "Yeah I would really hate and it would deflate my excitement for MCU rebooted X-Men exponentially. I really hope they don't take that lazy route and build them organically instead." A third chimed in, "This has legit been my worst fear when it comes to the movies. I understand there's really no easy way especially when you want to include backstory but I thought the lesser two evils would just be Professor X making humanity forget anything about mutants."

Of course, nothing has been confirmed about this mutant cameos, except that Doctor Strange will indeed team up with Scarlett Witch in the forthcoming movie. Meanwhile, a reported synopsis from Marvel Studios Japan (via the Cosmic Circus) further confirms Wanda's part in the film, while revealing Doctor Strange's more important role in the Avengers.

The translated synopsis reads, "The door of the multiverse, full of mystery and madness, opens. Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called 'the Multiverse.' "

"To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers' most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda," it continues. "But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange."
