JayDaYoungan Faces Up to Five Years in Prison After Being Indicted on Felony Gun Charge

The '23 Island' rapper was previously arrested on October 30 during a routine traffic stop in Washington Parish, Louisiana on multiple charges, including driving without insurance.

AceShowbiz - JayDaYoungan's trouble with the law has yet to be over. The "23 Island" rapper, who was arrested on multiple charges in late October, faces up to five years in prison after he was indicted on a felony gun charge in U.S. District Court.

The 23-year-old emcee, whose legal name is Javorius Tykies Scott, was previously taken into custody on October 30 during a routine traffic stop in Washington Parish, Louisiana. At that time, he was allegedly caught with a 9mm handgun received from another state.

Unfortunately, JayDaYoungan has been prohibited to receive a firearm because he faces charges in Texas related to the "illegal possession of Oxycodone and assault on a pregnant woman." The case was related to an altercation in February 2020.

He has since been booked into Washington Parish Jail on several charges. The charges included "a second violation of child restraint, switched license plates, driving without insurance, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with weapons present, possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule II narcotic, obstruction of justice and contempt of court."

In the new federal indictment, it's stated that JayDaYoungan "did willfully receive a firearm ... said firearm having been shipped in and transported in interstate commerce." If convicted, he faces five years in prison, three years probation as well as a fine of up to $250,000.

The Bogalusa native was arrested just more than a month after he was busted in mid-September. At that time, he was booked into Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of Accessory to Second-Degree Murder and Obstruction of Justice stemming from a deadly altercation back in 2020.

WAFB6 reported that JayDaYoungan was involved in a violent drive-by shooting on August 8 that year around 7:30 P.M. between local rival gangs. According to Fox 8, the gangs were identified as La Familia and Purple City Boys.
