The journalist has been terminated from his job at the Cable News Network over his efforts to help brother Andrew Cuomo when the latter was hit with sexual harassment allegations.

AceShowbiz - Chris Cuomo has finally been kicked out by CNN. The network cut ties with the anchor after it's uncovered he used his connections to help his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, when the politician was hit with sexual harassment scandal earlier this year.

Chris was officially ditched by his TV employer, a few days after he was suspended. "Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother's defense," the company stated.

"We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately," they continued. "While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate."

Chris hasn't responded to his firing, but he has spoken out about his suspension. "It's embarrassing but I understand it," he admitted on his SiriusXM show, "and I understand why some people feel the way they do about what I did. I've apologized in the past and I mean it."

"The last thing I ever wanted to do was compromise any of my colleagues and do anything but help," he added. "You know this already. It hurts to even say it."

Chris Cuomo was not the only one implicated in Andrew's scandal. Tina Tchen, former chief of staff for Michelle Obama, was also exposed for offering advice to the disgraced politician amid the damning allegations against him.

Tina has since stepped down from her position as the head of anti-sexual harassment campaign group Time's Up.

Andrew Cuomo initially denied the allegations, insisting, "I want you to know directly from me that I never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances."

Regardless, the Democratic politician resigned from office due to intense media scrutiny.
