The late model's friend has been pronounced brain dead days ahead of her 27th birthday and two weeks after she was found in a critical condition outside a hospital in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Christy Giles' friend Hilda Cabrales has been declared brain dead. Announcing the sad news was his father, Luis Cabrales, two weeks after the friend of the late model was left unconscious outside a hospital in Los Angeles.
"My girl was diagnosed brain dead yesterday," Luis told The Sun on Saturday, November 27. Holding back his tears, he shared, "We were already expecting it to be bad news and we're trying to take it with a lot of strength."
Luis continued, "I asked God to return Hilda to me in 100% good health but if she was going to be left impaired it is better for her to leave and go by His side." The 49-year-old dad told the outlet that the family will "say goodbye" on Monday as it's her birthday. "It gives me a lot of peace to think that God lent her to us for almost 27 years -- on Monday it will be her 27th birthday," he added.
Luis also confirmed that the family members have decided that Hilda's organs should be donated to those who need them. He said, "I never discussed it with her but we are completely sure Hilda would have wanted it to be this way, she was such a good and generous girl who was always looking out for others."
"Apparently there are nine to 12 different organs that could be used for donations and we decided that should be the last act of love from my daughter," Luis explained. The heartbroken father said that Hilda's friends have told him that she was "always there for them, concerned for how they were doing and helping anyone she could."
Luis noted, "I'm grateful that with her last breath she will be able to give life to others and that she will live on in the heart, eyes, lungs, of someone else." He stated that doctors will take Hilda to the operating room after her family and friends "say goodbye and pay homage to her." He shared, "We will be allowed to say a few words and play music and if it is on Monday we will sing Happy Birthday to her."
On November 13, Christy was found dead outside of a hospital in Los Angeles. Only two hours later, Hilda, whom she was last seen with the night prior, was found in a critical condition outside of a different medical center nearby. Christy's husband, Jan Cilliers, claimed that there's a video of the model being dropped outside Southern California Hospital in Culver City by three masked men in a vehicle without license plates. As for now, the investigation still continues.
