Another concertgoer who attended Travis Scott's deadly festival has passed away in hospital, a few days after he was declared brain dead following serious injuries in a stampede.

AceShowbiz - The death toll from last week's (05Nov21) Astroworld tragedy has risen to nine.

Student Bharti Shahani, who was declared brain dead earlier this week, has died from the injuries she sustained during Travis Scott's set at the festival in Houston, Texas.

The Texas A&M University senior passed away on Thursday (11Nov21).

She attended Astroworld with her sister and a cousin. They became separated during a crowd surge.

Bharti reportedly suffered several heart attacks and was rushed to a local hospital.

A representative for the deceased's family has confirmed she was the woman in a viral video who was dropped on her head as she was carried out by first responders. Meanwhile, nine-year-old Ezra Blount is still fighting for his life in hospital. His family is among those suing Travis Scott and promoters Live Nation for negligence.

The rapper has vowed to pay for the funeral costs of all the Astroworld chaos victims.

Meanwhile, a lawyer representing the star recently called out police for flip-flopping on their statement regarding the tragedy.

The attorney slammed the "finger-pointing" by city officials, "who have sent inconsistent messages and have backtracked from original statements."

"Houston Police Chief Troy Finner was quoted in the New York Times as saying 'You cannot just close when you got 50,000 and over 50,000 individuals. We have to worry about rioting, riots, when you have a group that's that young'," he continued. "Yet, just a short time later, Chief Finner states the responsibility to stop the show falls on Travis."
