The trailer for Netflix's new thriller sees Kevin, who plays successful comedian Kid, and Wesley Snipes, who portrays Kid's brother Carlton, facing consequences as they get into a scandal.

AceShowbiz - Viewers are treated to the look at Kevin Hart's drama series debut in the first trailer for Netflix's new thriller "True Story". Unveiled on Thursday, October 28, the video sees Kevin and Wesley Snipes being involved in a serious scandal.

It opens with successful comedian Kid (Kevin) greeting his fans as he heads to his hometown of Philadelphia for a tour stop. "Please welcome to the stage, one of Hollywood's brightest stars, Philadelphia's own: the Kid," an announcer booms at the start of the trailer.

Kid later reunites with his brother Carlton (Snipes) at a club and things take a scary turn from there. "We got a situation," Carlton tells Kid in frantic, to which Kid replies, "What situation?"

Elsewhere in the trailer, some detectives then visit his hotel room. "Pardon me, sir, these detectives would like to speak with you," a member of the hotel staff tells him.

"Seven hours ago you were the biggest motherf**ker since Eddie, now you're about to be the most scandalous," Carlton later says to Kid. As things seemingly get worse, Kid can be seen expressing his frustration as saying, "Everything I worked hard for is over." But his brother promises, "There might be another way. I got this."

The trailer ends with Kid donning an orange prison jumpsuit as he's seemingly being interrogated for the crime he does.

Of his new gig, Kevin previously shared to Entertainment Weekly, "It's a thriller; it's like you've never seen me before." He added, "We wanted to raise the level of curiosity, like, 'What is Kevin trying to say? Is he playing himself?' We never refer to the character by name, just Kid. And Kid's life kind of parallels mine to a certain degree, and then it's exaggerated in some places."

"But ultimately it's a question of, how far would you go to protect the things you've worked hardest for? Where would you go to make sure those things remain yours and are never taken from you? I can say just vaguely, because I don't want to say too much, when life throws certain obstacles and challenges at you, sometimes you don't even know what you're capable of," he continued.

"True Story" premieres November 24 on Netflix.
