Sharing a goofy picture of him sticking his tongue out while lying on hospital bed, the professional daredevil reveals that he still has 'a long road to recovery' after the car stunt gone wrong accident.

AceShowbiz - "America's Got Talent: Extreme" contestant Jonathan Goodwin has spoken up following a near-death accident during his stunt rehearsal. On Wednesday, October 20, the 40-year-old stunt performer took to his Instagram account to update fans of his condition.

Sharing a goofy picture of him sticking his tongue out while lying on hospital bed, Jonathan wrote in the caption, "You can't say you don't get out what you put in. Ive tried my hardest over the years to be kind, thoughtful, honest supportive and good." He added, "A couple of days ago my life took a complete left turn… and the out pouring of love from all the corners of the world; from people I didn't even think would know or remember me… has just been astonishing. Truly incredible."

Jonathan went on to express his gratitude as saying, "I will have a lot to say on that matter and the benefits of being kind in the future.. but thank you. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent their love and support. It literally has been a lifesaver. There are a few people who should not remain nameless. Firstly Tony, stuart and Jenni (not tagged as it seemed in appropriate) Milligan, Joe, Grace, Jane, Helen, mum and dad and simon and danny. Then most importantly my fiance and the best thing to ever happen to me, Amanda."

"I have been to the very brink and dodged the worst that a human being can, without fear…because I was protected by love. Love is all you need, so make sure you get some, cos its good s**t. To death I say nananana boo boo… and to the rest of you… watch this space," Jonathan noted. Concluding his message, he revealed that he still has "a long road to recovery and that won't look like what it did…I may leave the daft s**t alone for a while, but I have a lot left to do in this world. Maybe we can make something good together?"

In a video that captured the gut-wrenching accident, Jonathan could be seen attempting to do his car stunt. He was hanging mid-air in a straight jacket while two vehicles were also suspended on each side of him. The cars were released and Jonathan was supposed to unhook his harness and fall underneath.

However, it didn't go well as he was sandwiched between the two cars and it led to an explosion. Jonathan fell to the ground and hit his head. He was then airlifted to hospital. "During a rehearsal an accident occurred in which escape artist Jonathan Goodwin was injured while performing his act," a spokeswoman for "America's Got Talent" said in a statement at the time.

"He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital where he is continuing to receive medical care. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as we await further updates on his condition," the statement continued.
