AceShowbiz - Harry Jowsey has apologized to James Charles. The "Too Hot to Handle" star issued an apology after he used a homophobic slur against the YouTube star in an episode of his podcast "Tap In With Harry Jowsey".
In the Tuesday, October 19 episode of his podcast show, the 24-year-old reality star could be heard claiming that "James Charles is trying to f**k" him. He went on to add, "[James], the makeup artist. You don't know who he is? Just some f****t."
It appeared that the comment was not supposed to make the podcast's final cut and seemed to be more of a conversation between him and a member of his team. Though so, listeners were quick to grab the audio and post it online.
After Harry's homophobic remark went viral, he apologized. "I'm deeply embarrassed that I used such an offensive term so casually in conversation," the Netflix star told TMZ. He also claimed that he had already spoken privately with James to say sorry.
"I spoke with James already privately and I look forward to using this as a learning experience and not forgetting the weight that my words carry," Harry told the publication. He added, "I also want to sincerely apologize to the entire LGBTQ+ community who I wholeheartedly support."
After Harry showed his remorse, he went on to delete the podcast and reupload it. A reuploaded version of the episode ended up being cut down from 40 minutes to 27 minutes.
The controversy came after Harry showed his support for the LGBTQ+ community as he confirmed that he is dating transgender model Nikita Dragun. Back in September, he shared that he sees trans women as women. "For me, it's just like hooking up with another girl because I honestly see trans women as women," he said.
"I don't see it as a big deal. I told my friend's the next day, like, 'Yeah, s**t was crazy,' " Harry added. He then explained, "I feel like I'm very blessed with my friends and my family, that everyone's open minded and just loves people for who they are instead of freaking out."
Harry also said that he was attracted to Nikita's energy and persona. "I'm hugely attracted to people's energy, it doesn't really matter who they are," he said before gushing over his girlfriend, "So with Nikita like, if you guys know her, you meet her, especially offline, she's very powerful, she's very driven, she's very attractive and very successful in many senses. So, I don't know like, I've always been attracted to her."
