AceShowbiz - Christian Cooper broke his silence on the viral video of him being racially profiled by a white woman named Amy Cooper in Central Park. During his appearance on "The View" on Thursday, May 28, he addressed the incident, which took place on May 25, as well as talking about the backlash that Amy faced after his sister Melody Cooper posted her brother's video on Twitter.

Christian alluded that he didn't support harassing Amy. "About the death threats, I've been unequivocal about that she was getting them: It's abhorrent and it is contrary," he explained.

He continued, "If you think that what she did was wrong, that she was trying to bring death by cop down on my head, then there is no way you can justify turning around and putting a death threat on her head. So, that's got to stop. That's not acceptable."

"Everything else that's happened to her… I'm uncomfortable defining someone by a couple of seconds of what they've done," he shared. "You know, it's a stressful situation. She had a moment of very poor judgement."

"There's no excusing that it was a racist act," Christian said. "Because it was a racist act. But to define her entire life? I don't know. Only she can tell us if that defines her entire life, by what she does going forward, and what she's done in the past. I can't answer that. The frenzy makes me uncomfortable."

In the viral video, Amy, who worked as VP of Investment Solutions at investment firm Franklin Templeton, was allegedly walking her dog without his leash, which meant that she violated the park's rules. It appeared that she was involved in an argument with Christian. "Sir, I'm asking you to stop recording me. ... I'm going to call the cops!" she said, to which Christian responded, "Please call the cops."

"I'll tell them that an African-American man threatening my life," she said. Not afraid, Christian responded, "Please tell them whatever you like." Amy did call the cops and frantically reported to the cops, "I'm sorry, I'm in the Ramble, and there's a man, African-American, with a bicycle helmet. He is recording me, and threatening me and my dog…I'm sorry I can't hear you. I'm being threatened by a man in The Ramble. Please send the cops immediately."

Following the incident, her employer revealed on Twitter that they had fired Amy. "Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," read the tweet.
