The 'Girls' Trip' star may be one of the most successful female stand-up comedians, but back in the day, she used to be homeless and living out of her car until she met Kevin.

AceShowbiz - Prior to being a Hollywood star, Tiffany Haddish had her fair share of struggle. During her appearance in a recent interview with "Today" show's "Sunday Sitdown", the actress shared her story when she was homeless.

She first opened up about her abusive mom. "I would try to make my mom laugh," Tiffany said. "Because if she was laughing she wasn't hitting."

The "Girls' Trip" star went on to say that she've always wanted to be an "energy producer" while she was around large crowds at events. She then joined "comedy camp" and decided to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian. That led her to a more stable career, though she wasn't necessarily financially stable at the time.

Explaining that she was homeless and living out of her car, Tiffany said, "I would always pull up 5 to 10 minutes late so no one could see my car because I had all my clothes and suitcases in my car." However, that ended after meeting Kevin Hart.

"[Kevin Hart] said, 'You can't be living in your car on these streets,' " she detailed the live-changing encounter. "He gave me 300 bucks and was like, 'Find yourself a place for the week. And then write out a list of goals of what you want to do then start accomplishing those goals.' "

Her connection with Kevin didn't stop there. She had some guest-starring roles on several shows, including "The Real Husbands of Hollywood" with the "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" actor.

Later in the interview, Tiffany also talked about being the first African-American female stand-up comedian to host of "Saturday Night Live". "Once it was all done, I was like 'Whew, I made that history,' " she shared. "Every morning when I wake up I'm always praying and thankful. So, I always try to find the good in everything."
