The 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' rapper, who was barely seen in public over the last year, reveals he has ditched his video game console business and is now branching out with a soap company instead.

AceShowbiz - Soulja Boy is back with a clean sheet. The 29-year-old rap star, who was sentenced to jail last year for violating his probation, is now selling dish detergent. The Warner/Chappell Music artist revealed his new business venture during an interview with Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club", which was posted on YouTube on Tuesday, March 10.

The Chicago-born star is now branching out with a soap company, The Soap Shop. According to its official website, The Soap Shop is a "privately owned franchised laundry detergent, dish-washing liquid, body wash and cleaning supply company established in 2014." It boasts a variety of dish detergents in different flavors like strawberry, coconut and more, which are available at a store in in Southaven, Mississippi.

"I got dish detergent. Everybody needs soap," Soulja said of his new business. "Once you get into the music industry, you branch out, you know what I'm saying?" he went on explaining his entrepreneur ambition. "Do different stuff, like, try different things, try different business ventures."

Following Soulja's revelation of his new business ventures, some people found this idea hilarious. "Tide to Soulja Boy when they heard the news about him selling laundry detergent," one posted on Twitter, along with a bunch of laughing emojis.

"On God, just look at Soulja Boy. That n***a selling dish detergent now," another laughed at his soap business. Another chimed in, "Soulja boy got his own soap and dish detergent now lmfaoooo." One other comment read, "what its called ? soulja soap lol tf."

Someone else, however, thinks that Soulja's soap business is a smart move. "Mfs laughing at Soulja boy because he selling dish detergent the n***a smart if you ask me he selling all types of s**t," the said person weighed in.

Soulja was previously the owner of SouljaGame consoles, a video game console company. However, the business came crashing down in 2019 and a few months later he was sent to jail.

Following his release in July of the same year after serving three months of his 240-day prison sentence, Soulja opted to lay low. But now he plans to greet his fans again with some new work, teasing, "In 2020, I want to give my fans the best work I can give them. The best music, the best visuals, the best shows. 2020, is the year I just want to give back to my fans."
