The actor best known for his role as Secret Service agent James T. West in the classic 'Wild Wild West' is announced by his family to have passed away at the age of 84.

The star of 1960s TV hit "The Wild Wild West", Conrad was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1935. He moved to Los Angeles in the late 1950s and landed a recurring role on the TV show "Hawaiian Eye".

He'll best be remembered for his role as Secret Service agent James T. West in "The Wild Wild West", which ran in America from 1965 to 1969. He reprised the role for a film version of the series.

Conrad also appeared in the films "Murph the Surf", "The Lady in Red", "Samurai Cowboy", and "Dead Above Ground".

"He lived a wonderfully long life and while the family is saddened by his passing, he will live forever in their hearts," a family spokesman tells People.
