Taking aim at the 'Lose Yourself' hitmaker in a new interview, frontman Liam Fray accuses him of 'crossing a line' with the reference to the terror attack in 'Unaccommodating'.

AceShowbiz - The Courteeners frontman Liam Fray has accused Eminem of "crossing a line" by referencing the Manchester terror attack in the lyrics for his new song "Unaccommodating".

Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, hit headlines with the track, in which he raps: "I'm contemplating yelling 'bombs away' on the game/ Like I'm outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting."

A suicide bomber claimed the lives of 22 people outside Ariana's gig at Manchester Arena in May, 2017.

Following the track's release, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham was among those to slam Eminem for referencing the horrific atrocity in his song, and Fray, whose band hails from the British city, took aim at the star in an interview with BBC News.

"It all just felt like an old comedian who can't get on the telly anymore just saying something outrageous," he said. "I just felt a bit sorry for him. I just felt like he's jumping the shark a bit."

"He's trying to be as outrageous as possible because he's running out of ideas, that's what it is. It's nothing else (but) shock value. You have to shock to be good - that's nonsense."

Fray's remarks come as The Courteeners face off against Eminem in the U.K. albums chart, with the U.S. rapper currently looking most likely to top the rundown with his record "Music to Be Murdered By". However, The Courteeners' "More. Again. Forever.", the band's sixth studio album, looks set to earn them their biggest first week of sales ever.
